Senior Scientist - Feline Genetics

After completing her postdoctoral training at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Heidi developed a comprehensive DNA test for cats at Genoscoper - a Finland based laboratory specialising in companion animal DNA diagnostics. She now leads feline genetics research at Wisdom Panel and serves as a Scientific Advisor at EveryCAT Health Foundation.

Senior Scientist Computational Biology

Jason completed his postdoctoral work at the University of Carolina, Berkeley - where he later ran the Computational Genomics Resource Laboratory. A contributor to top science journals, he previously worked at AncestryDNA on the largest direct-to-consumer genomics platform, providing results to over 10 million people. Jason joined Wisdom Panel in 2020 to apply the latest genomic science to improve pet's lives.

Genetics Research Director

Oliver began his careers at the Animal Health Trust UK in 2003, investigating several inherited diseases in dogs. During a successful 12-year period, Oliver completed his PhD in the University of Glasgow and published several landmark papers, using innovative techniques to solve problems in canine genetics, earning him industry recognition and the UFAW Companion Animal Welfare Aware. Oliver joined Wisdom Panel in 2016, using his expertise to translate discoveries in canine and feline genetics into products and features to benefit dogs and cats across the world.

R&D Director

Rebecca Chodroff Foran, PhD leads R&D at Wisdom Panel, guided by the mission to strengthen the bond between pets and their people through world-leading insights powered by DNA. Foran has translated her passion for dogs and DNA into a research program built on data from 4.5 million dogs (and counting), with the goal of uncovering genetic factors underlying a range of the most common veterinary health conditions. She holds a PhD in genomics and neuroscience from Oxford.

Senior Scientist - Canine Genetics

Since receiving his doctorate, Jonas has worked at the forefront of canine genetic testing - shaping the future of personalised pet care and vertinary medicine through state-of-the-art genetic tests. Inspired by the Finnish tradition of studying disease in isolated populations, his research interests include exploring the distribution, prevalence, and relevance of inherited diseases and traits in dogs and cats across breeds. Jonas also belongs to the dog breeder community, as he and his wife actively breed Shetland Sheepdogs.

Manager of Veterinary Genetics

Casey received her DVM degree from Oregon State University in 2007 and practiced in both small animal and mixed animal hospitals. She joined Wisdom Panel in 2013, actively engaging with breeders, breed clubs, and veterinarians to answer questions about genetic testing, support research, and provide genetic health education. She has special interests in educating clients about their role in preventative care and the human-animal bond, immune and endocrine disease, and dermatology.

Statistical Geneticist

After obtaining her PhD in Human Genetics at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, Michelle was a faculty members of the University of Colarado's Division of Biomedical Informatics & Personalized Medicine, where she worked on several multi-ethnic large-scale studies to understand the genetic underpinnings of complex disease. In 2024 she joined Wisdom Panel as Statistical Geneticist. Michelle is eager to use her experience in large scale complex disease genetic studies to discover findings that can be applied to better the health of our pets.
